Both our mission and vision for the product are described on our Mission & Vision page.
Near term our main goal is to build a scalable product. We’re already solving key problems for customers, but we’re not doing this in a way that scales to large numbers of clients. We understand what we need to build, but until we execute on it our ceiling is dictated by our high-touch onboarding process.
We want to build this with a lean, focused team. Specifically that means building agents/workflows that can independently handle client requests or that assist a human-in-the-loop. We see even an 80% solution here as a massive moat relative to the competition.
Further, the core product we are building (an information extraction engine) applies to domains beyond hedge funds. We expect VC, PE, sales and market intelligence to be natural progressions after we’ve hit the limits of the hedge fund market, meaning a much larger TAM. We already have customers in these domains but they only constitute ~10% of our customer base currently and we haven’t actively been pursuing these types of customers.
Revenue is ultimately our North Start metric, so the ultimate goal is to continue growing ARR. We have a pretty clear path to increasing this; current demand exceeds our capacity constraints, which has meant turning away some prospective customers. This is a “good” problem to have but still a problem, as we want to capture every prospective client who reaches out to us. This sits as a long-term goal right now because our onboarding process (and maintenance, to a lesser degree) will continue to be high-touch until the product catches up.
Near term you’ll work primarily as an IC alongside our CTO (Logan), with a focus on building autonomous agents to handle the identification, extraction and querying/visualization tasks of our company workflow. You’ll also contribute features to our core infrastructure and work on any other tasks as needed!
As a startup everything is dynamic, including your responsibilities/priorities. We continuously reevaluate what are building based on customer feedback, with a constant focus on what adds 80/20 value. We’re building something no one has built before, meaning part of the job will be finding the boundaries of what is possible. Your role will evolve over time as we answer that question, and as we learn from our customers.
Our values page below expands on the cultural aspects/expectations of team members!
We see fundraising as one of many levers that we can pull. We realize that every percentage point given to investors could instead be used to hire the best talent.
With that said, we believe the right investors can bring value in differentiated ways a new hire cannot, and in March 2025 we raised a small seed round. The round was led by Auren Hoffman (Flex Capital) and we brought on ~30 other strategic angels and VCs, with angels actually making up the majority of the round.
We could have remained bootstrapped (we had reached mid six figures ARR that way) and were in a position to scale while remaining fully self-funded. However we think the investors we’ve brought on will be extremely valuable in continuing to scale, and the capital will let us bring on more engineers to ship quickly in a time where technologies are rapidly evolving.
Rohit is based in NYC (alongside most of our current customers) and Logan is based in San Francisco, however we frequently visit either coast and colocate/work together. We are primarily focused on building in person hubs in NYC and SF, however we do want to build the best team regardless of where everyone is located. We host frequent offsites/travel for team members to work together. We will subsidize relocation to SF or NYC.
